Offline Website Promotion effective advertising avenues for marketers.

A lot of webmasters get so wrapped up in the web they forget that they can advertise offline. You can use any of the popular forms of advertising, local newspaper classified ads, magazines or even local TV or radio spots.

However some of the most effective ways to promote your site offline are the less popular avenues. Most are very reasonable or even free. Business cards are very inexpensive. You can have a thousand printed with your web address and your business info for about 20 dollars. Getting the cards into the public is fairly easy. Most local super markets have a public cork board where people can pin-up ads. You can also find free ad boards at some Laundromats or even in the entrance way at some dinners, cafe's, flea markets or local shops. Pinning up a single business card works, although it is better to leave extra cards that people can take. That is not always possible, when it is take advantage of it and make sure you check back to resupply the business cards that people take.

There are also some local restaurants that have advertising on their table place mats. This is a great way to get out your website address and give a little info about your products. People are relaxed and receptive to ads while chatting waiting for their meal or drinking coffee after wards.

Road side signs also work well. Not giant bill boards, but signs like you see for yard sales or a local lawn service. Check the rules for your area and make sure you comply with any local ordinance that deals with ads and signs.

You can also have a bumper sticker made up for your car or cars. If you can get friends or relatives to use them great. If you come up with a cleaver sticker, it may appeal to more people who would want to have one on their vehicle because they like the message.

There are also some cheap give away items that you can use. Match books, pens, magnets, buttons, balloons etc. There is probably at least one type of giveaway item that would be suitable for your promotions.

Finally don't forget to promote your self. Word of mouth advertising really works and it is completely free. Talk about your business and website when you get the chance.
